The collections, displayed within the monumental complex of the "Fazello," partly consist of artifacts recovered by the Guardia di Finanza and partly from underwater excavations coordinated by the Superintendency of the Sea.
The oldest piece is an extremely rare terracotta cup from the 2nd millennium BC, discovered in the waters of Sciacca.
In the first of the two rooms (the amphora room), evidence of the vibrant maritime trade of antiquity is on display: Punic amphoras, late Republican and Imperial amphoras, large African oil amphoras, Greco-Italic and Roman wine amphoras from the Adriatic, and Byzantine amphoras.
In the second room, there are eight bronze and iron cannons from the second half of the 16th century, as well as various structural parts of the ship, tableware, and on-board instruments.
